Crispy Pork Egg Rolls

Ingredients

Eggroll Filling Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground pork
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • 1 Tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon table salt
  • 1 1/2 cups bean sprouts chopped coarsely
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onion
  • 1 medium shallot diced
  • 1 Tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic minced (to taste)

Eggroll Wrapping and Frying

  • Egg roll wrappers in Asian refrigerated produce section
  • 1 egg beaten to seal edge of wrappers
  • peanut or vegetable oil for frying

Dipping Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp agave syrup
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp chili oil (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger (optional)

Instructions

  • Brown pork in pan over med/high heat and drain excess fat and allow to cool
  • Add remaining filling ingredients to the pork and mix well
  • Place 1/4 cup of filling near one corner of the wrapper. Fold the nearest corner over the filling. Fold both sides in like an envelope. Brush opposite edges of wrapper with beaten egg and roll to seal. See video below for wrapping eggrolls.
  • Preheat peanut or vegetable oil to 350℉
  • Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown
  • Combine dipping sauce ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk together
  • Recipe makes approximately 12 egg rolls
