Incredible Salsa Bloody Mary

Ingredients

Blended Bloody Mary Base

  • jarred jalapenos to taste (see notes)
  • ¼ cup yellow onion diced (1.5 oz.)
  • 1 4 oz. can Old El Paso Green Chilis (not drained or rinsed)
  • ¾ tsp cumin
  • ¾ tsp table salt
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
  • ½ tsp lime juice bottled is fine
  • 1 tsp garlic puree
  • ½ tsp agave syrup

Build Your Bloody Mary

  • 1 Tablespoon Blended Bloody Mary Base above
  • 5 oz V-8 Juice
  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • Your favorite Bloody Mary garnish - celery, dill pickle spear, olives, etc.

Instructions

  • Combine base ingredients (jalapenos through agave syrup above) in a blender and puree completely
  • Add the desired amount of the blended base (I use 1 Tablespoon) to a glass, then add 5 ounces V-8 juice. Add 1.5 ounces of Vodka. Mix well, add some ice cubes and serve with your favorite garnish!

Notes

I've found that jarred jalapenos can really vary in spiciness. Here are a few brands I have tried for the spice level of for the base mix:
15 rings (0.8 oz.) Tuscan Garden, hot jalapeno rings
12 rings (0.6 oz) Mezetta Deli Style hot jalapenos
5 to 6 rings (0.35 oz.) Wal-Mart Great Value hot jalapenos
